Heron Moon
As sun sets and moon rises, the mate flies back to the roost with building materials for the nest. I spent hours watching this pair in the ARTHUR R. MARSHALL LOXAHATCHEE wildlife refuge in Florida. Later that season, this pair produced the next generation of this ancient line of magnificent birds.
