Silent Hunter
Late one evening, I spotted this great egret moving silently through the marsh. I watched for some time as it stabbed its beak into the water to retrieve small fish. Most people do not think of these elegant birds as predators, but if you watch them hunt, you realize that nature has provided them with all the tools necessary for survival in this environment.
