I have spent over 30 years exploring the ARTHUR R. MARSHAL LOXAHATCHEE WILDLIFE REFUGE. I found this tree
in one area of the refuge and saw the owl in another area, then combined the two to create this image. If you look closely,
you will see one of nature's ingenious adaptations. In the upper left corner you can see a red shouldered hawk -
the niche-switch partner of the barred owl. One hunts at night, the other in daylight.
