House Of Refuge

Along the east coast of Florida, there used to be stations on the beach called houses of refuge. When ships would wreck offshore, survivors could find warm blankets and hot food. Most of these outposts of civilization are gone, but the beaches remain with their tide pools and sea oats. Snowy egrets still roam those tide pools looking for food.
