| Gentle giants, wonders of nature. In folklore, the giraffe is equated with the heart. Indeed, the largest heart and the tallest animal in the kingdom. Adults have no predators, as one kick can kill a lion and they run at 35 mph and can see predators from a distance, given their high perch among the tree tops. Blessed with a tough, 18" tongue, it strips leaves from acacia trees. They are majestic creatures that have inspired awe for centuries outside their native Africa. |
